Marci Thomas CPA, MHA

Marci Thomas, CPA, MHA, is an author and discussion leader for Loscalzo Associates Ltd. She writes the not-for-profit and governmental curriculum as well course on internal control and auditing. Marci is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she teaches healthcare strategy, finance, governance, internal control and risk assessment. She works with numerous accounting firms, performing quality control and efficiency reviews and with nonprofit boards on strategic planning, internal control and governance issues. Marci serves on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Association of CPAs and is on the Executive Committee of the Board. She is also a member of the Not-for-Profit Committee and the Continuing Professional Education Advisory Council.

In addition to writing numerous training manuals for Loscalzo Associates Ltd., she is co-editor and author of a book published by Jossey Bass in 2004, Essentials of Physician Practice Management. Her book, Best of Boards: Sound Governance and Leadership for Nonprofit Organizations, was published by the AICPA in June 2011. Her newest book on Healthcare Financial Management was published by Wiley Publishing in January 2014.
