As the auditor of a defined benefit plan, it is critically important that you understand the actuarial reporting as well as the unique aspects of auditing a defined benefit plan. Attendees will develop an understanding of:
• The actuarial function including the actuarial valuations and reports — learn how to read the actuary’s report
• Key accounting matters and the required reporting and disclosure requirements
• Audit issues unique to defined benefit plans including risk assessment, testing census data and benefit payments
