Description

This introductory session will explain the basics of health plans, including the statutory requirements that control their operation (e.g., IRC Sections 125 and 105, HIPPA, COBRA and ACA). It is designed to give participants a working knowledge of plans, the benefits and their important features. Participants will:
• Describe common health plan types and features
• Apply basic tax rules to health plans
• Understand health reform in its historical context
