Description

This session provides an overview of the 2013 final and companion proposed regulations under section 1411. The panel will discuss major changes to the final regulations, developing issues addressed by the newly proposed regulations and other issues arising during the NIIT's first tax filing season. This session will provide attendees with:

• An overview of the 2013 final regulations issued in late 2013
• An overview of the 2013 proposed regulations issued in conjunction with the final regulations
• Observations on the implementation of the NIIT in its inaugural year

Please note that session 18 will provide details on the application of NIIT to special industries.
