AICPA National Governmental and Not-for-Profit Training Program 2013

Receipt of a Federal Grant Means I Have to Have What Kind of Audit Performed?

Oct 23, 2013 3:10pm ‐ Oct 23, 2013 4:50pm

Description

GAAS-only audits are becoming less common, and what is becoming more the norm is the addition of Government Auditing Standards and related compliance audits and other attestation engagements. A major force behind this trend is a surge in federal agency requirements for “A-133-like” audits of for-profit entities. The auditing guidance is difficult to navigate. This session will discuss:
• The increasing jurisdiction of Government Auditing Standards and the impact on traditional engagements
• Expanding audit requirements of for-profit recipients of federal funds
• How to identify what standards are applicable
• Tools to share with your commercial counterparts in your firms to navigate these additional engagement requirements
