ENGAGE 2020

PFP20102 - Insurance 101 - For the Dabbler and Curious

Jun 7, 2020 2:00pm ‐ Jun 7, 2020 5:00pm

Description

According to Andy Rooney, in a famous Chicago Tribune article, "The average red-blooded American hates insurance companies." Many financial advisors feel the same way. Unless a financial advisor is directly involved in implementing insurance recommendations, insurance can seem confusing and deeply complicated, with a unique language that requires constant study. At first glance, these observations look valid, but at a deeper level, it turns out that the topic of insurance can be made accessible and interesting. The purpose of this session is to provide a fast-paced, interactive, and fun introduction to insurance topics for financial advisors who want to learn how insurance can serve as the foundation for an effective financial plan. The session will cover topics related to life, health, disability, and long-term care insurance, property and casualty coverages, and special needs insurance.
