Description

The session will discuss cybersecurity for financial professionals and their clients as well as discuss the threat of scams and identity theft to financial professionals and their clients. We will also discuss how to protect yourself and your clients from these dangers.

Particularly in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, scammers and identity thieves are attacking people working from home jeopardizing not only the workers, but their companies. The session will show you what the threats are and how to protect yourself and your company.

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the landscape of federal and state cybersecurity laws that CPAs, attorneys and financial professionals should be abiding by to better protect their clients' data and reduce their own risk exposure.
  • Identify popular scams that are targeting your clients and you and understand why and how you and your clients are susceptible to them.
  • Learn how to educate your clients about the steps they should be taking to protect themselves from identity thieves, hackers and scams.
