ENGAGE 2020

Disaster Recovery - Lessons Learned from Hurricane Katrina

Jun 9, 2020 12:40pm ‐ Jun 9, 2020 1:30pm

Description

Earthquakes, Floods, Hurricanes and Cyber attacks all affect business continuity and disaster recovery. What you perceive as important in recovering may not actually be the correct process to take. This session talks about the lessons learned by a New Orleans firm from Hurricane Katrina. It's a story of tragedy, triumph and hope.

Learning Objectives:
  • To inform the attendee as to what is actually important in the event of a disaster or interruption in business.
  • To share that it is incorrect for a company/firm to think "It Can't Happen Here". We thought the same thing, yet after Katrina, were out of our building for 78 days.

Speaker(s):

  • Les Nettleton, Director of Information Technology, Bourgeois Bennett, CPAs and Consultants
