CFO Conference 2020

CFO2021 - When Good Leaders Lose Their Way

Apr 24, 2020 11:35am ‐ Apr 24, 2020 12:25pm

Description

Mark Whitacre's presentation has a strong emphasis on corporate culture, ethics and compliance. This topic is an important personal and business ethics lesson about "doing the right thing" and the need to focus on the "long term." His presentation is extremely entertaining as he actively engages his audience about how he wore a wire for the FBI everyday traveling the globe for three years in one of the largest white-collar crime cases in U.S. history. But, his story is also about hope, family commitment, redemption and second chances, and a wonderful example of a family overcoming extreme adversity, against all odds.

  • Discover how fraud (embezzlement) and price fixing were both concealed for several years and what the company could have done to expose and possibly prevent the fraud much earlier

Speaker(s):

  • Mark Whitacre, PhD from Cornell University in biotech and 30 years management experience including Fortune 500 companies, COO, Cypress Systems, Inc
