CII1902 - Economic Update

Nov 25, 2019 9:30am ‐ Nov 25, 2019 10:45am

With the economy back on its feet, the main focus turns to the prospect of holding “high ground”, a feat that has little historical precedent. The discussion will make the case that, in contrast to the historical experience, the U.S. economy is likely to continue to grow at a moderate, noninflationary pace and that there is little reason to worry about a new downturn. This discussion will explore the implications of the current political climate for the economy and examine the reasons why the financial market response anticipates a number of pro-growth actions.

Learning Objectives:
  • What types of lasting impacts will be brought on by a slowing economic growth.
  • What risks will trade tensions impose on the economy.
