National Conference on Banks & Savings Institutions 2019

BAN1910 - Chair Remarks | Housing and Economic Update

Sep 10, 2019 7:30am ‐ Sep 10, 2019 8:50am

Standard: $49.00

Despite a strong start to the year, growth appears to have slowed in the second quarter as macro-level uncertainty disincentivizes business fixed investment and starts to weigh on consumer spending. In order to sustain the longest expansion in more than 70 years, we expect the Fed to once again begin easing monetary policy and to cut its interest rate target.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the trends in U.S. growth, housing market and overall demographics
  2. Learn how Federal Reserve policy makers are likely to respond to economic conditions over the coming year
  3. Understand the outlook for the U.S. economy over the next 18-24 months
