PST1936 - Panel: Working in the Cannabis Industry

Jun 13, 2019 11:15am ‐ Jun 13, 2019 12:05pm

Standard: $49.00

This session will explore the continuing evolution of the cannabis industry and how professionals are responding to requests for services. The continuing tension between state and local laws and regulations supporting the industry in relation to the illegal status under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970 has created huge conundrums for operators, investor and advisors.

Learning objectives:

  1. Hear about the lessons learned in Colorado that have been providing a broad range of support to selected cannabis and hemp clients since 2009.
  2. Get an update on the status of key legislation, including the STATES Rights Act, and SAFE Banking Act that are currently being considered at the federal level.
  3. Explore where to turn for more input and resources to assist in serving cannabis and hemp industry clients, including ethical issues for licensed CPAs.
