Jun 12, 2018 8:00am ‐ Jun 12, 2018 9:15am

Standard: $49.00

Description

The TCJA has dramatically changed estate and trust planning. What types of trusts should CPAs recommend to help clients realize the optimal balance of income tax savings, asset protection, estate tax benefits, access to assets, divorce protection and more. While many assume that the new high exemptions make planing irrelevant that is far from the case.

Learning Objectives:

1. Instruct attendees in the many new uses of non-grantor trusts and the technical issues of characterizing trusts for this treatment.

• Explain many technical issues with non-grantor trust planning.

• Update practitioners on ways clients can have access to assets transferred to irrevocable trusts yet achieve the other planning goals.
