Controllers Conference 2017

CW1709 - Risk, Trends in Management & Mitigation

Nov 14, 2017 2:25pm ‐ Nov 14, 2017 3:15pm

Controllers and CPAs in industry are required to think about how to reduce risk within their companies. Over the last several years there has been more attention placed on the effectiveness of senior management and boards of directors to manage and oversee the variety of risks that Controllers face daily. There is greater awareness of risk and a commitment to improve performance that is driven by leadership at the highest levels of companies. It is an expected best practice. Our boards are (or should be) asking what are we doing to mitigate risk and what’s our plan to address it. Assessing risks, including the risk of the status quo, represents the next step in enhancing performance. Integrating risk in the rhythm of all management and program areas is critical to improving alignment, cooperation, prioritization and, execution. This panel of Controllers will explore current trends and share personal anecdotes.
