Construction and Real Estate Conference 2016

25 - Changes in Real Estate Lending

Dec 8, 2016 4:15pm ‐ Dec 8, 2016 5:05pm

Standard: $49.00

Description

As the CMBS market has waned, banks have filled the gap and increased CRE lending volumes to record breaking levels. At the same time, banks with high levels of loans backed by commercial real estate on their balance sheets have come under increased scrutiny from regulators, which in turn implemented a variety of restrictive measures that have the potential to affect both the debt capital markets and CRE valuations. This session will include a diverse panel of real estate professionals that will provide their perspective on: (1) the impact new regulations are having on the underwriting and origination of new CRE loans by banks, (2) the continued increase in alternative capital sources and non-bank lenders, and (3) how borrowers are responding with respect to refinancing, project level capital structures and changes to their investment strategy.
