Description

The United States Supreme Court decisions in Windsor and Obergefell have changed the tax and estate planning landscape for non-traditional couples. This session will discuss the income tax, estate tax, gift tax, retirement planning, divorce tax and state law issues facing same-sex couples and planning ideas available to them. Attendees will:
• Identify the changes in the tax law affecting same-sex couples
• Learn the alternative planning options available to same-sex couples
• Discover how the nationwide recognition of same-sex marriage affects state property rights
